MEREDITH — The Meredith Rotary Club presented 34 scholarships to graduating high school seniors from Meredith, Moultonboro, Center Harbor and Sandwich. The combined value of the scholarships was $32,000 compared to a combined total of $20,000 awarded to 22 winners in 2013.
Scholarships were awarded to 17 graduating seniors from Moultonborough Academy at a school ceremony at Geneva Point on May 27. Scholarship committee co-chair Roger Kosits made the presentations assisted by Moultonborough Academy Guidance Director Jennifer Chapmann.
On June 4, 14 scholarships were awarded to high school seniors from Inter-Lakes High School at a ceremony conducted at the Meredith Community Center. The Meredith Rotary Club was represented at the event by Miller Lovett, recently retired Meredith Selectman and long-standing member of the club, and Rick Ippolito, past Rotary Club president.
Additionally three scholarships were announced at the June 11 Rotary meeting for high school seniors living in our community but attending private schools.
Since 1982, The Meredith Rotary Club has donated almost $2 million dollars through scholarships and sponsorships to many groups in the communities of The Lakes Region.
