Mayhew Program receives grant

BRISTOL — The Mayhew Program has received a $5,000 grant from Lincoln Financial Foundation to help support its residential summer programming and school year mentoring for 205 at-risk New Hampshire boys.

“We are pleased to continue our support for The Mayhew Program,” said Byron Champlin, program officer for Lincoln Financial Foundation. “The investment we make in these boys today will pay dividends by creating active, enterprising and productive citizens tomorrow. That is what Mayhew excels at.”

Mayhew provides tuition-free programming for boys, age 10 to 17, from economically and socially challenging circumstances. The grant, made possible with the support of the Lincoln Financial Foundation, will challenge and help at-risk New Hampshire boys to believe in themselves, work well with others, and find their best. “This investment in the boys has everyone humbled and inspired. We are so grateful to Lincoln Financial Foundation for standing so strongly behind the boys,” said Jim Nute, Executive Director.

Mayhew is a member agency of the Granite, Greater Seacoast, and Monadnock United Ways. For more information, visit www.mayhew.org or “like” them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/TheMayhewProgram.
