Aerial Dance and Circus performances by local students at Laconia Community Center Sunday

LACONIA — The public is invited to free Aerial Dance and Circus performances by local ARTFEST students at the Laconia Community Center on Sunday, June 22 at 6 p.m.

Erin Lovett Sherman, director of ARTSFEST,  has been teaching Circus, Dance and Performing Arts classes at the Laconia Community Center for the past 10 years. She is also the Director of Youth Programming and Outreach at the New England Center for Circus Arts in Brattleboro, VT.

A Lakes Region native, Sherman grew up performing with Streetcar Company and teaching at Frates Creative Arts Center. ''I'm so happy to bring this high level of professional Aerial and Acrobatic training to my home town,'' says Sherman, who is hoping for a good turnout at Sunday's free event.

The informal Student Showcase celebrates e the end of the Spring Session and the beginning of our Summer Session and will feature visually stunning performances on Aerial Fabric, Lyra, Trapeze and Spanish Web as well as Acrobatic and Hoop Dance performances by students ages 6-adult. A Hoop Jam Dance Party will follow.

The summer session starts at the Laconia Community Center on July 2.
