Belknap Mill Summer Concert Series welcomes Michael Vincent Band

LACONIA —The Michael Vincent Band will perform the opening concert in the Belknap Mill's summer outdoor series in Rotary Park in downtown Laconia. The program will being at 6:30 p.m.

The band is made up of three very talented, driven young musicians that are devoted to the music that they play: Michael Vincent, Danny Mack, and Dan Hewitt.

The trio grew up together in central New Hampshire where they learned about the blues and the roots of American music on their own with long hours of practice and experimentation. Artists such as the Cream, The Grateful Dead, the Allman Brothers Band, the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Muddy Waters, B.B. King, The Band, Booker T. & the MG's, and Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble are among the band's favorite influences, and you can hear it in their original music as well as their cover tunes.

They played their first gig together during Laconia Motorcycle Rally when they were only 13 years old. A few years later they were playing with some of their heros, Eric Burdon of the Animals and Jack Bruce of Cream. Since then, they have performed with legends such as Johnny Winter, Dave Mason of Traffic, Elvin Bishop of The Butterfield Blues Band, Ronnie Baker Brooks, Biscuit Miller and The Mix, The Holmes Brothers, Dave Malone of the Radiators, Shirley Lewis, and John Lee Hooker Jr.
