LACONIA — Taylor Community presents Duo Andacht in concert for the next performance in its 2014 Music Series Sponsored by Bank of New Hampshire. The concert is scheduled for Sunday, June 8 at 3 p.m. in Taylor’s Woodside Building and is free and open to the public.
Pianist Paul Dykstra and Cellist Beth Pearson formed their duo in 2008 and have been frequent performers on the New England stage. These include the Jean C. Wilson Music Series; the Abendmusik Series in Rye, the Musicians of Wall Street Series in Concord; and Mechanics Hall in Worcester, where they completed a successful recording of the Brahms E minor Sonata.
Their performance made possible through the generous sponsorship of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Ouellette. Pearson began her professional life as founder and cellist of the Apple Hill Chamber Players, and has performed more than 2,000 chamber music concerts throughout the U.S. Her solo appearances include Lincoln Center; the Gardner Museum; the Longy School; and Harvard and Smith colleges.
Dykstra is a Canadian-born and-trained musician now living in New Hampshire , where he maintains a very active career as a solo and chamber music performer, teacher and recording artist. He’s recorded world premiere offerings of modern music by American composers such as Norman Matthews, Edward Ficklin, Roger Rudenstein and with Richard Stolzman (clarinet), both in piano/clarinet combination and with the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra under Kirk Trevor.
