HOLDERNESS — Saturday, June 7, is the date for this month's Ellacoya Chapter Public Bean Supper. Held at the Squam Valley Masonic Building on Rt 3/25 at the Center Harbor/Holderness town line, the menu includes ham, baked beans, meat balls, potato casserole, salads and pie, all prepared by the members of the chapter. Tickets, available at the door, are $8 each for adults and $3 for children, with ticket sales beginning at 4:30. Serving starts at 5 p.m. and continues until 7 p.m. or until food runs out.
Not only is it an opportunity for an affordable Saturday supper, but it is a way to help others. As a "not for profit" organization, the proceeds of our fundraising activities, in addition to helping the chapter meet its necessary expenses, are shared with local, state and national organizations such as the Interlakes Community Caregivers, Food Banks, and Cancer Society. Ellacoya Chapter, together with another area Eastern Star chapter, sponsors Plymouth Assembly, International Order of Rainbow for Girls. This year monies, from a special fundraising effort by all Eastern Star chapters throughout New Hampshire, will be donated to the Shriners Burns Hospital in Boston.
