Alton Author-Artist's First Novel Now Available

ALTON — Artist, entrepreneur, and now author, Alton resident DJ Geribo has just completed her first novel for middle-grade children, The House at the Top of the Trees, published by BBD Publishing.

Although she has a BA degree in English and worked for several years at Cabletron as a Senior Technical Writer, for the past 14+ years she has been pursuing a career as a fine artist. In July 2013, she showcased some of her wildlife paintings in a one-person show at the Libby Museum in Wolfeboro.
Over the years, DJ found that she was often torn between her two passions. "When I was painting I thought about stories I was writing, and when I was writing I would think about something that I wanted to paint." She recently came to the realization that her interest in painting came about because she needed to learn this skill to illustrate the many books she has planned to complete over the next months and years. "I have so many stories I have written over the past years and since many of them are for pre-schoolers, they need illustrations."
She and her Internet Architect husband, Jim Fontaine, (www.PCSWebDesign.com) have created several businesses based on DJ's artwork. One website specifically supports wildlife refuges around the world (www.EyeHelpAnimals.com) and the other website helps support animal shelters around the USA (www.HelpShelterPets.com ).
Her first novel is available for purchase from her website that was designed with her creative input, as well as Jim's creative and extensive technology experience. Go to www.BBDPublishing.com to find out more.
