Summer skateboard camp sessions being offered at Waterville Valley

WATERVILLE VALLEY — While Waterville Valley Resort's will be offering a skateboarding camp sessions throughout the summer months. A verity of sessions run from July 6 through Aug. 1, offering day camp, overnight, and weekend options.

The Waterville Valley Skateboard Camp is the only overnight camp in New Hampshire that is completely run by skateboarders, for skateboarders. The Waterville Valley Skate Park has undergone many changes over the past few years, including the addition of new ramps, hips, platforms, euro gaps, quarterpipes, banks and boxes. The park is ever changing, so campers can always look forward to something new each summer at camp.

"Waterville Valley Skateboard Camp is like no other camp in New England. We only take 36 campers per week and 18 on weekends to ensure the campers have individualized coaching. We pride ourselves on the close-knit community feel of our camp, which we achieve by maintaing a staff to camper ratio of 1:6," says Camp Director Luke Mathison.

All overnight campers stay in the Town Square Condominiums,  located in the heart of Town Square, close to the skate park, restaurants, shops, and Corcoran's Pond. Each condo unit is chaperoned by a camp counselor and is fully equipped to comfortably house six campers and one overnight staff member per unit.

When campers want to take a break from skating, there are other activities to try, including swimming, mountain biking, SUP (stand up paddleboarding), kayaking, tennis, and golf. All of these activities are all included in the Waterville Valley Freedom Pass, an activity pass included in all Waterville Valley lodging packages.

The Waterville Valley Skate Camp is designed to fit the needs of both parents and kids by offering various session choices as well as full day professional coaching and supervision. Campers can choose between the day camp option or overnight camp, and have the choice of week long camps or weekend programs. The camp welcomes boys and girls between ages 8 and 17 for day camp, and from 12 through 17 years old for overnight sessions.
