Lakes Region SCORE offers Meet Your Support Team event

LACONIA — SCORE Lakes Region will offer a "Meet Your Support Team" workshop  on May 14 from 5:30 – 8 p.m. at the Beane Conference Center, 35 Blueberry Lane, Laconia, to assist business owners with identification of areas of concern in the fields of insurance, legal and regulatory, accounting and banking.

This workshop will be hosted by Lakes Region SCORE. SCORE mentor will facilitate presentations by area professionals including Attorney Michael Persson from the firm of Lawson, Persson & Weldon-Francke, Randy Eifert from Cross Insurance and Brian Chalmers from Meredith Village Savings Bank, who will share insight from their areas of expertise. This is an opportunity for you to meet, hear from and network with professionals familiar the local business environment.

Discussion topics during this session include:
• Insurance; how much and what lines; property, liability, motor vehicle, umbrellas, workers compensation, health & life. What's at risk if you go without?
• Forms of business structure; business registration & regulations; labor considerations. Why does it pay to have a lawyer? What does it cost to not have one?
• Taxes & record keeping, financial statements & management reporting, breakeven analysis & ratios. Do I need a bookkeepers or a CPA?
• Business lending requirements; how accounting ties the story together, financial forecasts, startup needs, supporting data for loan application and servicing requirements once financing is in place . What is your information compared to when risk is assessed?

Advance registration tuition is $25 per person. Registration will be available at the door the night of the event from 5:00-5:30 p.m. for $30.
