MOULTONBOROUGH — The Moultonborough Historical Society will hold its first annual Lasagna Cook-Off on Saturday, June 14 at 6:30 p.m. at the Moultonborough Lions Club on Old Route 109 in Moultonborough.
All are invited to enter their very best lasagna and there will be cash prizes for the most delicious and creative entries. There will be categories for amateur cooks and for professional chefs or restaurants. Entry fee is $10 and MHS will supply each entrant with two 2x8x10 aluminum pans. Entries must be prepared from scratch and be accompanied by a list of ingredients. Recipes need not be submitted so no secrets will be revealed. Lasagnas must be delivered to the Lions Club by 4:30 p.m. on the day of the Cook-Off, and criteria for judging include aroma, consistency, appearance, taste, ,and creativity.
Tickets are $15 per person and include lasagna, salad, bread, dessert, tea and coffee, plus music and fun. The event is “BYOB.” There will be door prize drawings including tickets to the July 2014 NASCAR race in Loudon, plus a 50/50 raffle with a “pot” of $500 to start with. All proceeds benefit the Historical Society and their mission to preserve the past of our town for the future, including the historic buildings and artifacts maintained by the Society.
