LACONIA — Lakes Region Community College is scheduled to offer Climanomics: The Good, the Bad and the Opportunities, on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, 3:30-5:30 p.m., in the Academic Commons on Prescott Hill. The event is free and open to the public.
The panelists include Dr. Cameron Wake, research associate professor at the Institute for the Study of Earth, Oceans, and Space, at the University of New Hampshire, and who also serves as director for Climate Solutions New England. Also on the panel are Sam Evans-Brown, environment reporter for New Hampshire Public Radio; Peter Adams, co-director of Plymouth Area Renewable Energy Initiative; and Wes Golomb, professor of Energy Services and Technology at Lakes Region Community College.
"Climanomics is about the challenges and opportunities of climate change," says Dr. Andy Duncan, LRCC EST Department chair, who organized the event. "This will be a lively panel of experts who will shed light on how climate change is affecting New Hampshire. There will be plenty of opportunities for participation with the panelists."
LRCC's Scholarly People Educating and Encouraging Knowledge for Society (S.P.E.E.K.S.) club is co-sponsoring the Climanomics panel along with LRCC's EST department. After the panel there will be a Light Eats S.P.E.E.K.S. fundraiser as well as tours of LRCC's Energy Lab.
