St. Baldrick's fund raiser for kids with cancer set for June 7

GILFORD  — The 10th Annual St. Baldrick's "Shaving to Conquer Kids Cancer" fund raising event is in full swing and accepting shavees, and donors who wish to be a "Hero to Kids With Cancer."
Locally an effort is underway to make the 0th anniversary event the biggest and most successful yet. It will be held on June 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m at the Gilford Youth Center, 19 Potter Hill Rd. Gilford. In addition to the "shaving of the heads" participants can enjoy, music, entertainment, great food, and raffles throughout the day.

Since 2000 when the first event was held in NYC more than 213 million dollars has been raised to support cancer researh. Locally the 9 events held in the Lakes Region has raised $373,929.30. In partnership with the Save Giovanni Foundation and DKMS Americas over 125 people have been registered to the National Bone Marrow Registry as well as donating over 800 inches of hair to "Locks of Love".
