Gilford Officer Named K9 Handler of the Year

GILFORD — The Working Dog Foundation held its annual dinner last week in Portsmouth to recognize the hard work of the Police K9 teams that receive their training and certification through the program. Every year the Foundation, through its committee, chooses a K9 team that has gone above and beyond for their efforts while training and their performance while on duty.

This year's recipient of that award was Gilford Police K9 Officer Adam Vansteensburg and his K9 partner IKE. This is Vansteensburgs second year as a K9 handler and he trains with some very skilled and experienced teams from around the State of New Hampshire as well as Maine.

The Gilford Police Department is both proud and excited for the award and feels that it is a true representation of our K9 team.
