LACONIA — The Laconia Area Community Land Trust (LACLT) will be hosting a full-day seminar on Saturday, April 26 to assist a new group of would-be homeowners in the process of purchasing a home. The seminar is to be held at the Community Room at the Laconia Police Department at 126 New Salem Street from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
So far, 296 known first-time homebuyers have graduated from LACLT’s program, representing more than $44 million in local home purchases. Topics include for the seminar include credit and budgeting, qualifying for a mortgage, working with a realtor, the home inspection process, and the closing process.
The First-time Homebuyer Seminar is free and open to the public; advance registration is required, and lunch and refreshments will be provided. The seminar is being offered offered by LACLT, a HUD-approved housing counseling agency, and sponsored by Franklin Savings Bank.
