GILFORD — This week, April 14th -18th is National Library Week at the Gilford Public Library. This year's theme is Lives Change at Your Library, and the week will be packed full of activities for patrons of all ages.
Check out the book display for great reads featuring life changing events or view a Day in the Life of GPL, a video montage composed of snapshots taken throughout a typical day at the Library. National Library Week is also Amnesty Week, and 50% of fines will be forgiven. Every person who checks out an item during the week will also be entered into a drawing for a prize at the end of the week.
On Wednesday, April 16 the Library will host an Edible Book Contest. Just choose a favorite book and bake or cook an edible rendition of the book. Submit entries on April 16 between 9 a.m.– 3:30 p.m. Books and food creations will be on display in the Meeting Room until 4 p.m. when the judging will commence and prizes will be awarded.
At 11 a.m. each day, the library will have a visit from the Police, Marine Patrol, a School Bus Driver, Firefighters, or a Snow Groomer. These special guests will bring their vehicles along for children to check out. Stop by the Library to learn more about programming during National Library Week.
