MEREDITH — Inter-Lakes math team placed 3rd out of 17 small schools at the 42nd New Hampshire State Math Contest held at Plymouth State University.
Inter-Lakes scored 204 points to capture 3rd place behind Bishop Brady High School in 1st with 248 points and Portsmouth Christian Academy in 2nd with 219 points. Overall, out of 55 total schools at the contest, Inter-Lakes finished in 10th place, ahead of most medium, intermediate, and large schools.
The team high scorer for the day was Johnny Cox with 28 points which included a perfect score in Algebra 1. Matt Schneberger, Jonah Steiss, and Sarah Sundius followed, each with 24 points. Matt and Jonah each had perfect scores in Algebra 1 and Sarah had a perfect score in Advanced Math. Isabel Cunningham, Ben Jaques, and Hayley Roth each contributed 16 points to the team total with Hayley also getting a perfect score in Advanced Math.
Liam Donahoe, Finnian O'Connell, and Danial Thomas rounded out the team with 12, 8, and 4 points respectively. A plaque was awarded to the team for their 3rd place finish and will be on display in the Laker hallway. The team is coached by Bob Marcoux and Diane Mega.
