Altrusa to Give Free Books to Kids

LACONIA — Altrusa of Laconia, in conjunction with the Granite State Reading Council, is busy planning a NH Family Literacy Day event which will be held on April 12th at Woodland Heights Elementary School in Laconia. From 9 a.m. am until noon, children attending the event will receive free books, as well as view exciting exhibits.

Exhibitors planning to attend include an interactive LEGO exhibit, geckos, an entomology exhibit, a Laconia Fire Truck, Smokey the Bear, Race Cars, the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center, NH Humane Society, Squam Lakes Science Center, Penny the Panda, Prescott Farm Environmental Education Center, Laconia Police Department and much more. There is absolutely no charge to attend this event.

This is a statewide celebration of NH Literacy Day with similar events around the state. Altrusa is proud to have Laconia represented this year.
