LRGHealthcare recognized for efforts to reduce inpatient harm and readmissions

LACONIA  — LRGHealthcare was one of three organizations in the country recognized by the American Hospital Association (AHA) for efforts to reduce inpatient harm and reduce readmissions.

Dr. Vercin Ephrem, President of the Medical Staff and Gloria Thorington, Director of Patient Safety and Quality attended the AHA and Health Research & Education Trusts' (HRET) 'Hospital Engagement Network Best Practice Celebration' in November and presented LRGHealthcare's journey to implementing best practices and evidence based care that won the organization the national recognition.

LRGHealthcare is proud to have been recognized for its success in reducing harm and achieving the AHA's goals and is committed to providing the highest quality of care to every patient. That commitment requires an aggressive ongoing quality assessment and improvement effort, as to achieve the AHA's goal of reducing inpatient harm by 40% and reducing readmissions by 20%, LRGHealthcare met all ten areas for quality improvement. The quality improvement efforts ensure that the practices and hospitals continue to evolve with the latest medical research.
