Gilford Baseball hosting skills assessment

GILFORD — Gilford Youth Baseball will hold its Majors and Minors Divisions skills assessments for the 2014 season on Saturday, March 22, at the Gilford Middle School gymnasium.

These assessments are not a tryout, as no players are turned away from regular season play. They are used solely to aid the league in team placement for parity purposes.

Players will be run through stations of throwing and catching, fielding, and hitting. Players will also be able to register in person for all divisions at this time if they have not yet done so. The Majors Division assessment (for 11- and 12-year-olds, plus any 10-year-olds wishing to try out for Majors) will begin promptly at 9 a.m. The Minors Division assessment (for 9- and 10-year-olds, plus any 8-year-olds wishing to try out for Minors) will begin at 10:30 a.m.

The skills assessment is mandatory for all Majors and Minors players. Those who have a time conflict, can contact Gilford Youth Baseball through its website (www.gilfordbaseball.org) or Facebook Page (facebook.com/gilfordbaseball) to make other arrangements.
