Pemi Fish & Game Club to host potluck & talk about bats

HOLDERNESS — The spring pot luck dinner, annual meeting and elections of the Pemi Fish and Game Club will be held at the clubhouse at 295 Beede Road in Holderness on Friday, March 28.

Those attending are urged to bring a main dish, salad or dessert, if they are able to do so, but that is not a requirement, organizers say. Those planning to bring a dish are asked to call Winnie Oustecky at 536-4129.

The suggested donation is $5, kids age 8 and under are free. Those bringing an offering may opt to be fed free.

Following the dinner the club will meet upstairs in the Assembly Hall for a short annual meeting and elections followed by a presentation by Dave Erler, senior naturalist at the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center. Erler has been the featured speaker in the past. The talk is scheduled to be about bats and diseases such as the fungus called "white nose syndrome" that are shrinking the bat population. Erler will answer questions at the end of his talk.
