GILFORD — The O'Brien Clan, a local family Irish band, will be kicking off the St. Patrick's Day celebration at Patrick's this coming St. Patrick's Day on Monday, March 17 beginning at 11:30 a.m.
"We're delighted to have them back" said Patrick's co-owner Allan Beetle. "Their first visit to Patrick's was this past November and it was a really fun night. They were a big hit". Having recently formed around St. Patrick's Day 2013 "The O'Brien Clan" hails from the Lakes Region of New Hampshire. They enjoy playing fun and upbeat instrumental Irish gigs/reels as well popular Folk Songs from the Celtic tradition with rich vocals and harmonies. The group is comprised of siblings Benjamin (Lead Vocals & Guitar), Michael (Djembe, Bodhran & Vocals), Jonathan (Violin), Timothy (Accordion), and Susannah (Flute & Vocals).
The O'Brien Clan will perform from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Local favorite "Paulie O'Warnick" will take the stage at 5 p.m., and there will be special visits and promotions throughout the day. No cover charge. The St. Patrick's Day celebration includes several special Irish menu items running all weekend, and an all-you-can Irish buffet will be available all day Monday that features corned beef and cabbage with traditional vegetables, Irish Stew, Bangers with Mashed and Sticky Toffee Pudding.
