LACONIA, NH — Accounting is fundamental not only to taxation but also to understanding what is going well and what is going poorly in a business. In order to monitor cash position and forecast needs an effective accounting tool properly setup and kept both current and accurate is essential. When considering starting a business, or getting out of the cigar box and coming into the 21st century, it is important for business owners in these challenging economic times to get a handle on a powerful, widely used and versatile software for the task. On March 18 & 20, 2014 SCORE Lakes Region will offer a two-part workshop for those setting up their business software or for those in business and converting to QuickBooks use; entitled "Starting Up with QuickBooks."
The workshop is sponsored by Northway Bank. The workshop will be presented by Charlene Smith, Owner of QB Support Services; LLC who is QuickBooks Advanced Certified and is also certified in: QuickBooks Online, Point of Sale, and Enterprise. Charlene started QB Support Services, LLC in 2011 after graduating with High Honors from Lakes Region Community College with an Associates Degree in Accounting and a concentration in Business Management.
Discussion topics during the first session include;
• How to initially set up your software package;
• Numbers you should be watching;
• What to enter to process transactions and how;
• File transfers to the bookkeeper and or accountant.
Attendance at the first session is mandatory for the second session. Topics for the second session will depend on what further assistance you need after the first session.
Registration is required for the March 18th & 20th workshop, which will be held from 5:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. (Registration and Networking from 5-5:30 PM) at the Taylor Community Woodside building, 435 Union Avenue, Laconia, NH, located across from Irwin Auto. Doors open at 5pm for Registration and Networking. Seating is limited to the first 24 people to register and pay for the workshop. Tuition is $25 per person if paid in advance or $30 at the door.
