PLYMOUTH — To assist our members and all interested voters in deciding how to cast their votes in the March 11, 2014, election, the Plymouth Area Democrats are pleased to announce that District 1 Democratic Executive Council Candidate Mike Cryans will be the featured speaker at the regular monthly meeting of the Plymouth Area Democrats on Wednesday, February 19 at the Plymouth Regional Senior Center on Depot Road in Plymouth. Cryans' presentation will begin at 7 p.m. and there will be an opportunity for questions from the audience at its conclusion.
For 18 years as a Grafton County Commissioner, Cyrans has served the people of Grafton County. His focus has been growing the economy, protecting taxpayers, and strengthening the Middle Class. These same priorities he will take with him to the Executive Council. Like his good friend and colleague Ray Burton, Cryans understands that public service is about being honest, hardworking, and delivering real solutions for his constituents.
Among the accomplishments of the Grafton County Commission during Cryans' years of service include building a major addition to the Nursing Home, a new House of Correction, Water Tower, Maintenance Building, and Biomass Plant - all projects that invested in the local economy and created jobs. Most recently he helped plan the demolition of the old County jail and construct Ray Burton Park, a wonderful tribute to Ray, in its place.
As a District 1 Executive Council candidate, Cryans has won the joint endorsement of the three siblings of the late Republican Councilor Raymond Burton, each of them highlighting the importance of constituent services that Burton was known for providing.
District 1 is made up of dozens of diverse communities, towns, villages, unincorporated places, and cities in northern New Hampshire. It includes all the towns that make up the Plymouth Area Democrats organization: Alexandria, Ashland, Bridgewater, Bristol, Campton, Dorchester, Ellsworth, Groton, Hebron, Holderness, Lincoln, Plymouth, Rumney, Thornton, Warren, Waterville Valley, Wentworth, and Woodstock.
The Plymouth Area Democrats welcome the public to attend any of their meetings, which start at 5:30 with a potluck supper, followed by a brief business meeting and featured event. For further information, please call 968-7105.
