GILFORD — The Gilford Cal Ripken Youth Baseball League is announcing the return of "spring training" skills clinics for the 2014 season. This is a 5-week series of clinics that will focus on all the fundamentals of throwing, fielding, and hitting, as well as pitching and catching. Players ages 7-12 from the towns of Gilford and Laconia for the upcoming regular season are encouraged to attend.
Clinics will be held from 4:30-6 p.m. on Sundays in the Gilford High School gymnasium, and Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Gilford Community Center. Clinics will begin on Sunday, February 16 and run for 5 consecutive weeks. A one-time donation of $20 per family is requested which covers both locations and time slots. Aside from a ball glove, the only equipment needed will be a pair of clean indoor shoes and shorts or sweats. Players are also encouraged to register for the 2014 season at any of these times.
