WATERVILLE VALLEY — Three-time Olympian and Waterville Valley Resort Nordic instructor Kris Freeman is hosting a pair of events on January 18-19 as he continues to prepare for his 4th Olympic appearance at the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, Russia.

In addition to receiving instruction from one of the most successful Nordic skiers in US history, guests can learn from Kris about his life in and outside of the sport.

From 10-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, Freeman will hold a Skate Clinic for intermediate and advanced Nordic skiers at the Waterville Valley Resort Nordic Center. The clinic is $35 per person and is open to the first 25 guests. From 10-11 a.m. on Sunday, January 19, he will be in the Meeting Room at Town Square speaking about his life and career. It is open to all guests and free of charge.

As a competitor on the world stage for more than a decade, Freeman excels in long distances, winning a World Championship in the 30km and is the reigning National Champion in the 50km, which he has won three straight years.

"I began skiing at Waterville Valley when I was four years old. When I grew up, I moved as close to the mountain as I could because it is still my favorite place in the world to ski. I am grateful to Waterville Valley for running such an awesome facility and for all of their support." says Freeman.

Waterville Valley was designed and planned specifically as a self-contained, four seasons resort. In winter, Waterville Valley Resort features world-class alpine and Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, an indoor ice rink, and activities and events for the whole family. Lodging options include country inns, condominiums and all-suite hotels. Dining options include traditional favorites and elegant dining.
