MEREDITH — The Interlakes Summer Theatre is staging yet another "off-season" production, this time with the hilarious Nunsense musical "NunsenseA-Men".
There will be two performances, Saturday, February 8 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, February 9 at 3 p.m.
The cast will feature Dan Pivovar and Mikey LoBalsalmo, (two favorites from The Full Monty); AEA actor Kenney Greene, (2013 director/choreographer of Ain't MisBehavin), and newcomers Marc de la Concha and Gregor Smith, all of New York City. Adam Tilford will musical direct, with Kasey Sheehan and Adam Bates as Lighting & Sound Designers.
"This show is so funny", says producer Nancy Barry. "I've wanted to do it for a long time and after catching a production in Portsmouth, I just had to put it on the schedule, especially because I knew I had perfect talent to fill the roles. The show has all the comedy and warmth of the original with the hilarious twist of the characters being played by men. I was also so impressed by the work of Director/Choreographer Patrick Dorow of Patrick Dorow Productions and knew I had to get him to join our team." Patrick will be joining the cast to rehearse in NYC, before coming to Meredith.
If you are familiar with the original Nunsense musical, you will be familiar with the characters, Sister Mary Regina (Reverend Mother), Sister Hubert (Second in Command), Sister Robert Ann (the troublemaker from Brooklyn), Sr. Mary Amnesia (who can't remember who she is and channels a lot through her puppet Sister Mary Annette), and Sister Mary Leo (the Nun Ballerina).
All tickets are $25 and are assigned. Tickets can be purchased online at interlakestheatre.com or by telephone to avoid convenience fee, at 1-888-245-6374. Tickets will also be available at the door.
