GILFORD — The First United Methodist Church of Gilford is pleased to announce that there will be a Living Nativity at the church on December 15 at 2 p.m.
The Methodist Church has been a large part of the annual Live Nativity for many years in Gilford Village, but due to the issues surrounding safe places for the animals during the Nativity, and parking for the trailers as well as those who come to the program, the church decided to have the Living Nativity at their church at 18 Wesley Way (off Rt. 11A near the 3/11 by-pass) in Gilford.
Kathy Salanitro will be bringing a team of oxen to participate, and Jeff and Joyce Keyser will bring Eeyore the donkey and some sheep from Ramblin' Vewe Sheep Farm to help in the Nativity. After the program everyone will be able to see the animals up close and learn a bit about them.
Any children wishing to participate as shepherds or angels are welcomed to join the presentation. Adults who would like to participate are also welcomed. Just let the church office know at 524-3289 so that a costume will be ready, then be at the church at 1:45 for dressing. There are no lines to learn.
This program celebrates the true meaning of Christmas with the portrayal and reading of the Nativity story and the singing of favorite Christmas carols. Everyone is encouraged to come and participate in this wonderful celebration The program normally goes only 20 -30 minutes. Following the program, everyone is welcomed into the church to warm up and have some hot cider and cookies.
