Christmas at the Castle event starts Nov. 22nd

MOULTONBOROUGH — The newly restored front entrance at Lucknow, the "Castle" at Castle in the Clouds, is decorated and ready for visitors to the  popular Christmas at the Castle over the coming two weekends, Friday through Sunday, November 22-24 and November 29-December 1 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The Lucknow mansion is the main event, with its giant Christmas tree loaded with vintage ornaments, period decorations throughout the mansion and seasonal music heard through the rooms. There will be live music performances each of the 6 days: Tom Robinson, pianist, will perform seasonal favorites on November, 22. Next up the Tom Robinson Jazz Trio, with Tim Gilmore on drums and John Hunter on bass, will offer a jazzy mix of Christmas songs Saturday, November 23 and 30. Noelle Baudin and Siena Kaplan, Piano & Violin Duo serve up traditional and Celtic Christmas music on Sunday, November 24, with Noelle Baudin on piano on Friday, November 29, and on Sunday, December 1 the Children's Choir of Sandwich will perform the traditional holiday tunes.

After visitors tour Lucknow, they are welcome to warm up by the fireplace in The Carriage House with a hot beverage and cookies. Craft vendors will "deck the stalls" and the Gift Shop will be open for early holiday shopping. Hart's Turkey Farm will be bringing a delicious selection including hot butternut squash soup, hot turkey soup, Mediterranean orzo salad, chickpea and dried cranberry salad, farfalle with tuna and garden peas, chef carved roast beef and baked ham, candied carrots, potato au gratin and assorted freshly baked rolls. Buffet luncheon is $20 per person.

Tickets are available for purchase in the Gift Shop and are required to visit The Carriage House, the trolley, and the Lucknow mansion. Admission is $10 for youth, $20 for adults, $15 for Friends of the Castle. Christmas at the Castle is sponsored by Infinger Insurance. This event is weather permitting.
