Published DateMEREDITH — On Saturday, June 29, 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. the artists will return to Cackleberries Garden and Gift Center for another "Artist In My Garden" event. Joining returning potter Tricia Eisner and photographer Bonnie Edwards will be a new local artist – Cynthia Roesch.
Roesch came to ceramics after a series of traditional careers that left her wanting to find her true passion. The goal of her work is to bring beauty and joy to people's lives though creating both whimsical and classic pieces of art. She brings a touch of her own style to every project and prefers to create decorative pieces that break from the norm.
She considers the heart of the process to be the texturing and decoration of pieces. She uses colored underglazes in many pieces to create bright and bold patterns in order to contrast with large and simple shaped vessels. She uses both white earthenware and porcelain for their straightforward interaction with her favored bright glazes and fires using an electric kiln. She is always experimenting with techniques and forms and feels she is never done learning. Though she knows she is a ceramicist at heart, she has ventured into oil and watercolor painting and continues to expand her artistic arsenal.
Tricia and Bonnie have been busy in their studios producing a number of new pieces to be on display. Bonnie will introduce a new series of landscape photos from the Lakes Region. Tricia continues to expand her collection of decorative and useful ceramic pieces.
