Lakes Region Woodwind Quintet Visiting Laconia Schools and presenting concert (160)

LACONIA — The Lakes Region Woodwind Quintet will bring their harmonies to three Laconia elementary schools May 16 and 17 through the New Hampshire Music Festival's Visiting Artist Program. Their visit will culminate with a free Community Concert at Laconia Middle School on May 17 at 7 p.m.
The Lakes Region Wind Quintet will play familiar selections from Menuet and Rondo from Suite Miniature, Yankee Doodle, Serenade for Wind Quintet, Sound of Music, Overture by William Tell and others. Students will have the opportunity to hear the musicians play and learn more about their instruments.
Quintet members are Debbi Gibson, clarinetist from Sanbornton; Nancy Goldenhar, bassoonist from Freyburg, Maine; Robin Jackman, French horn player from Gilford; Kenda Corcoran, oboist from New Hampton; and Doris Heney, flutist from North Conway. This group recently played the Taylor Community 2013 Music Series in Laconia earlier this year.
The Community Concert on May 17 is free and open to the public, made possible by support from the New Hampshire Electric Co-op.
