Published DatePLYMOUTH — The Plymouth State University Department of Art Visiting Artist Series will present a slide discussion with Soo Sunny Park, associate professor of studio art at Dartmouth College from 4–5 p.m. Wednesday, April 17. The program will be held in Room 314 at the Draper and Maynard Building on North Main Street in Plymouth. There is no charge for admission.
Jan Garden Castro wrote of Park in Sculpture Magazine, "Soo Sunny Park's light-filled installations are simultaneously visceral and immaterial. They encourage viewers to explore the sensual effects of light and shadow, geometry, the natural landscape, and the wonders of physics."
Born in Seoul, South Korea, Park received her BFA in painting and sculpture from Columbus College of Art and Design in Ohio and a MFA in sculpture from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, MI. After a residency at Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, she worked in St. Louis as an installation artist and lecturer at the Washington University. She has exhibited widely in the U.S. and in South Korea.
