MEREDITH — On Sunday, March 17, the Lakes Region Flag Football League will be holding its first annual Flag Football Breast Cancer Fundraiser to benefit Stacey Dickinson of Meredith. Stacey, who is in her early 40's, was diagnosed with breast cancer right before Christmas and is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments.LRFFL is inviting all of our former players, current players (including our Men's Summer League teams and our Women's Spring League teams) to participate.
The league is also inviting all those who just want to give flag football a try to come out and have some fun and help out Stacey and raise money and awareness for breast cancer. Anyone from age 4-and up can play flag football. NFL Flag Football is played 5-on-5 and is a non-contact sport.
The event, "Pulling For Hope And A Cure" will be held from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on the Inter-Lakes High School turf field. Event will be held whether snow, rain or shine.
Adults who wish to play will be asked for a $10 donation and kids will be asked for a $1 donation to get out for a day of flag football fun.
Come by yourself and we will fit you on a team, or form your own team (all-men, all-women, co-ed, father-son, mother-daughter, etc) to play in a round-robin tournament just for fun. Kids are welcome to form their own teams also.
