Plymouth P.O. Cancellation Marks Minting of National Forest Quarter

PLYMOUTH — The Plymouth Post Office will be offering a special pictorial postmark to celebrate the U.S. Mint's release of the White Mountains National Forest quarter.
Beginning at noon on Thursday, Feb. 21, Postmaster James Cooper and his staff will be available at the post office to stamp letters and postcards with a unique postmark documenting the occasion. Specially authorized by the U.S. Postal Service, this special postmark is a wonderful way to take home an inexpensive souvenir of the occasion.
Customers can also request the special postmark free-of-charge by mail for 30 days after the event by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope containing the letter or envelope they wish to be cancelled to: Postmaster, 1 Post Office Square, Plymouth, NH 03264-9998.
"We will be happy to cancel and return by mail any letters that our customers mail to us," said Cooper. "Customers may also bring in their own envelopes to obtain a postmark that they can take home as a keepsake."
For more information, customers may call Plymouth Postmaster James Cooper at 603 536-1316.
