Our Memories: How Reliable Are They?
Published Date
LACONIA — Dr. Angela Kilb of Plymouth State University will discuss memory research on Monday, Feb. 18 at 11 a.m. in Taylor Community's Woodside Building. We've all experienced forgetting in our lives and have observed that human memory is imperfect. Yet, certain memories remain vivid for many years.
Doctor Kilb will show how easy it is to implant a false memory, as well as the implications this has on
everyday life, including the impact of false memories on eyewitness testimony. She received her PhD in
Cognition and Neuroscience from the University of Missouri, where she studied the effects of aging and
divided attention on memory performance. She is currently an assistant professor at PSU and the director of the Lifetime Learning Laboratory.
The program is part of collaboration between Meredith Village Savings Bank, Taylor Community and
Plymouth State University, designed to bring educational and entertaining programs to Taylor residents and the greater Lakes Region area.
This event was rescheduled from Feb. 8 due to the snowstorm and is free and open to the public. Space is limited. Make reservations by calling 524-5600.
