The Gilford Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring a pick-up co-ed volleyball program for adults ages 18 and up from 7-9 p.m. in the Gilford Middle School Gymnasium. This program runs each Tuesday through the spring. There is a $2 fee per participant, per evening. No pre registration is required. Unitarian Universalist Society of Laconia conducts a Tuesday Night Meditation Group. 6-7:15 p.m. This group is designed to create a community where you can develop your own meditation practice in a friendly, non-judgmental community. No experience necessary. Sessions consist of a combination of sitting and walking meditations and weekly discussions (no preparation required). Memorial Day program hosted by the Groton Historical Society held at the Groton Town House beginning at 11 a.m. Refreshments served at the close of the service.

Memorial Day parade and services hosted by the Wilkins-Smith American Legion Post #1. 10 a.m. at Wyatt Park in the South End of Laconia. For more information call 455-2026.

Memorial Day observance schedule announced by the American Legion Post 33 of Meredith. Service at Meredith Center Cemetery lead by Rev. Robert Lemieux begins at 8 a.m. Service held at Meredith Village Ceremony by Rev. Dennis Audet will begin at 9 a.m. Parade begins at 9:50 a.m. leaving from the Post 33 parking lot. Participants in the parade are asked to arrive at 9:30 a.m. Ceremony in front of the library will begin at 10 a.m. Prayers will be offered at Hesky Park at 10:30 a.m. Bob Jones gives the main address at the POW-MIA Memorial at 10:45 a.m. Reception afterward held at 11 a.m. at the Legion Post.

The Town of Gilford observes the Memorial Day Holiday with a parade leaving from the Community Church at 9:30 a.m. Parade participants are asked to arrive at 9:15 a.m. Observances will be held at the World War I & II Memorial and then at Pine Grove Cemetery. Disabled veterans requiring rides are encouraged to contact Sandy Bailey at 527-4790 to make their need known.

"Shakedown for Hospice" charity event hosted by the Winnipesaukee Yacht Club featuring a reverse start PHRF sailboat race and powerboat scavenger hunt.
