First Baptist Church in Meredith will be hosting GriefShare on Tuesday evenings from 7-9 p.m., starting September 23 and running for 13 weeks through December 16. Participants are encouraged to come all 13 weeks, but each week is independent of the others in content so one can join us at anytime along the way. GriefShare is a Bible-based support group for anyone who is suffering the loss of someone close to them, no matter how recent or long ago the loss is. Even though the teaching is based out of the Christian Bible, the group recognizes and appreciates that not everyone has that viewpoint. All are welcome. Each session consists of a video, workbook and group discussion. The videos feature respected counselors and teachers who have faced their own grief and who share insights on how to walk through grief in a healthy manner. Unitarian Universalist Society of Laconia - Tuesday Night Meditation Group, 6-7:15 p.m. at 172 Pleasant Street in Laconia. This group is designed to create a community where individuals can develop their own meditation practice in a friendly, non-judgmental community. No experience necessary. Sessions consist of a combination of sitting and walking meditations and weekly discussions (no preparation required). New comers are encouraged to arrive 10 minutes early for a quick introduction.
