The Alton Historical Society kicks off the 2014 program season with a presentation by former FBI agent Robert E. Lee. 7 p.m. at the Gilman Library in Alton. Refreshments served.

Annual Passover Festivities commemorating the Jewish exodus from Egypt held at Temple B'nai Israel in Laconia. 5:30 p.m. Features music, dinner and singing. Hands Across The Table free weekly dinner at the St. Andre Bessette Parish Hall on Gilford Avenue in Laconia. Doors open at 4, dinner served at 5. All are welcome.
GriefShare session held for those who are experiencing the grief and pain from the death of someone close to them. 7-9 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Meredith. The Gilford Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring a pick-up co-ed volleyball program for adults ages 18 and up from 7-9 p.m. in the Gilford Middle School Gymnasium. This program runs each Tuesday through the spring. There is a $2 fee per participant, per evening. No pre registration is required. Unitarian Universalist Society of Laconia conducts a Tuesday Night Meditation Group. 6-7:15 p.m. This group is designed to create a community where you can develop your own meditation practice in a friendly, non-judgmental community.  No experience necessary.  Sessions consist of a combination of sitting and walking meditations and weekly discussions (no preparation required). Those joining for the first time are encouraged to arrive 10 minutes early for a quick introduction.  Free will donations accepted.
