Lake Houses at Christmas Island community launched

LACONIA — On Friday, July 3, the developers of the new Lake Houses at Christmas Island community held a ribbon cutting ceremony to launch the waterfront community along the shores of Paugus Bay, Lake Winnipesaukee. Located on Weirs Boulevard, the community includes 1,000 feet of shorefront with 3.2 acres enjoying westerly exposure. 16 new, direct-waterfront luxury, duplex- townhomes are currently being constructed. Two of townhomes have been completed, two are near completion and the foundations and site work has been completed for the remaining units. 'Old Friends Genealogy' launched to help research family history

MOULTONBOROUGH — Moultonborough residents Kate and Mike Lancor have launched "Old Friends Genealogy", a service that offers to trace clients' family tree.

After spending countless hours over the past five years researching their own ancestors, Mike and Kate feel they have become amateur genealogists and records searchers and are using the research skills they have acquired to help others develop a lineage family tree.

Old Friends Genealogy has access to records online the United States as well as much of Europe. Kate and Mike have a great deal of experience using historical newspaper websites, National Archives records, Find-A-Grave and state records. When it comes to researching Irish ancestors, they have extensive experience using several Irish websites that house records for censuses, baptisms, marriages, deaths, and property valuations.

Steele Hill Resorts celebrates craft beer with "Brew With a View"

SANBORNTON — Steele Hill Resorts hosted its inaugural "Brew With a View" beer fest on June 20, featuring a sampling of New Hampshire's craft breweries as well as some from across the country.

Hundreds joined in the sampling from more than 30 craft breweries from as far away as California to as near as Henniker and North Conway. Smoke 'N' Barley in Tilton stopped by the event with cigars. The festival also served as the official launch of Tova's Tavern Pale Ale, produced by Tuckerman Brewing Company.

Steele Hill's director of food and beverage, Jed Dole said he was "happy to see everyone having a good time." Organizers expect to make "Brew With a View" an annual tradition.

The Cozy Inn-Lakeview House & Cottages is comprised to two historic Inns and fifteen cottages located in the heart of Weirs Beach overlooking Lake Winnipesaukee.
