Jonathan S. Stankatis, 40

NORTHFIELD — Jonathan S. Stankatis, 40, of Northfield, died at his home on Aug. 8, 2017.

He was born in Boston on March 18, 1977, and spent most of his childhood in Danville and Canterbury.

Jonathan was a self-employed, successful logger who worked very hard.

He enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing, and trapping. His true passion was sharing his love and knowledge of the outdoors with his family and friends, especially his daughter Kaylin.

He is survived by his daughter, Kaylin Stankatis; his wife of 13 years and mother of their daughter, Sara Stankatis of Tilton; his mother, Carole Stankatis of Canterbury; brother Gregory Stankatis and his wife Janet of Washington state, Jeffrey Stankatis and Holly Sirois of Belmont; sister, Stephanie Galambos and husband Steve of Canterbury; and Ally and Lizzy, his lifelong canine companions; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father, Donald A. Stankatis, who passed away in 2015.

Jonathan influenced the lives of many people and was always willing to lend a hand. He shared a tremendous love for animals with his daughter Kaylin, many nieces and nephews.

Sara and Kaylin Stankatis will have a gathering with family and friends on Sunday, Aug. 13, from noon to 6 p.m. at her home at 23 Pine Hill Road, Tilton. Carole Stankatis will have a celebration of Jon’s life at the Stankatis Farm on Saturday, Aug. 19, at 2 p.m. for those who knew him and loved him.

In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Jonathan may be made to the New Hampshire Humane Society 1305 Meredith Center Road, Laconia, NH 03246.
