Anne P. Pocock, 61

MEREDITH — Anne Patricia Pocock, 61, of Meredith passed away peacefully at her home on Feb. 14, 2017.

Anne was born on July 13, 1955, in Franklin, the daughter of Andrew N. and Patricia (Holden) Nadeau. She attended school in Franklin and went on to earn her degree at New Hampshire Vocational Technical College in Laconia.

After a few years of working for several local businesses, she was married to Leslie E. Pocock in 1977 and relocated to Manchester, Connecticut, where she began working at the headquarters of Hartford National Bank. In 1979 they returned to New Hampshire and resided in Center Barnstead for the next 22 years.

Upon their return, Anne began her career of 30-plus years with the state of New Hampshire, working most recently in Department of Health and Human Services' Bureau of Homeless and Housing in Concord. She remained there as an administrative assistant until her retirement in 2012.

Immediately following her retirement, she spent a year and a half in Puerto Rico assisting with the care of her newborn granddaughter while her daughter, Kim, returned to work. She loved the beach and the sunshine, but mostly she loved having the opportunity to spend quality time with her grandchildren. Many of her most recent and fondest memories were formed during her time spent there.

While at home, Anne enjoyed doing volunteer work with St. Paul's Church in Franklin, particularly organizing and working at the Angel Fair, as well as with the Meredith Public Library. She was an avid reader and spent many hours exploring the worlds found between the covers of thousands of books.

Anne is survived by her husband, Leslie of Meredith; her daughter, Kimberley and her husband Garrison Knapp of Dorado, Puerto Rico; her grandchildren Tyler and Amaya Knapp of Dorado, Puerto Rico; her father, Andrew Nadeau of Franklin; her sister, Marie and husband Tim Creasey of Franklin; her brother, Mike Nadeau of Franklin; her brother, Jim Nadeau and wife Roberta of Coco, Florida; and nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Anne's life by gathering for a funeral Mass on Monday, Feb. 20, at 11 a.m. in St. Gabriel's Church (formerly St. Paul's) 108 School St. in Franklin. A spring time burial will take place in the Meredith Village Cemetery.
