CAMPTON — Arnold C. Dunn, 85, of Campton, passed away on Jan. 7, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born to the late William and Ora Dunn on April 1, 1931.
Arnold honorably served his country in the Army as a communication specialist and was stationed in Germany from November 1951 to October 1953.
Arnold was married to his beloved wife, Eleanor (Walker) Dunn, whom he lovingly called E.D., for 37 years until she passed on Dec. 6, 2016. Arnold always enjoyed a good story and cared deeply for others. His family will always remember his love for cooking, gardening and woodworking. His friends will miss their weekly gatherings at Plymouth McDonald’s, where they enjoyed coffee, conversation and Arnold’s wit and humor.
He leaves behind four daughters, Betty Trottier and her husband David, Barbara Danforth and Dean Tappan, Brenda Gilbert and her husband Armand (Pete), Donna Bartlett and John Stitt. Additionally, he leaves behind nieces Carol Poitras of Plymouth and Helen White of Moultonborough, as well as a nephew, Bill Dunn, of North Sandwich; as well as his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He will also be remembered by his six stepchildren, David Daoust, Deborah St. Jean, Donna Jones, Gary Daoust, Diane Daoust, and Theresa Stendor.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Heath, and brother-in-law, Newl Heath; his brother, William (Bill) Dunn, and sister-in-law, Mary Dunn; as well as his nephew, Stanley Heath.
A graveside service will be held at the State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 13.
