LACONIA — Comedians Paul D'Angelo and Jodie Sloan will take the stage at Pitman's Freight Room on Friday March 2, at 8 p.m. Admission is $20.
Paul D'Angelo is a former Essex County, Massachusetts, assistant district attorney and criminal defense attorney who simultaneously became one of the country's top stand-up comics. He combines an energetic, charismatic stage presence and spontaneous improvisational talent with an endless array of intelligent humor delivered in an animated style that grabs and holds the attention of crowds everywhere he performs. D'Angelo's constantly evolving and diverse selection of original material “takes normal everyday experiences and makes them sound absolutely hilarious.”
Joining Paul is Jody Sloan who cut her entertainment teeth doing her sit-down shtick as a cheeky "conducktor" named Penny Wise on the Boston Duck Tours. Her experience "conduckting" duck tours over 4,000 times was the perfect tee-up to becoming a stand-up comic, she said. She's now a regular at esteemed comedy venues including Headliners Comedy Clubs throughout New England and beyond. Wherever people need to laugh, Jody answers the call and is a favorite for booking agents and clubs across the Northeast.
