Snowmen, stories and songs

01 11 Garden Club

The New Hampton Garden Club made their monthly garden therapy visit to Golden Crest Assisted Living in Franklin on Monday, Jan. 8. Residents enjoyed making snowmen using a white sock which they stuffed with cotton. They then adorned them with a felt scarf, a felt hat, buttons and movable eyes. They were led in this project by members Eleanor Morrison and Phyllis Schofield. A story of "Frosty the Snowman" was read and they learned that it was 1950 when Gene Autry made the song famous.
