GILFORD — An evening of Native American food tastings and entertainment will take place Saturday, Nov. 18, 5-7 p.m. at the Gilford Community Church, 19 Potter Hill Road in Gilford.
Food will include venison stew, moose, bear, buffalo chili, trout stuffed with crab, roasted turkey and salmon stew. Some of the side dishes will be butternut squash, corn casserole, Three Sisters, corn bread, FryBread and Wojapi, and Ghost bread. For dessert there will be blueberry, pumpkin, cherry pies and bread pudding. Native baskets, jewelry, clubs and artifacts will be on display. Mountain Spirit Singers will be drumming with Native flute playing as well.
A live auction, raffles and all proceeds benefit the Native American Scholarship Fund. Tickets at the door: Children and elders $10, adults, $15, under six, free. This event is hosted by the New Hampshire Intertribal Native American Council.
