Pleasant Street students thank veterans at the Taylor Community

LACONIA — Taylor Community residents were among the invited guests to be honored at a Veterans Day program held at Pleasant Street Elementary School on Thursday. Veterans were introduced to the students in person and through a slide presentation depicting them in their service uniforms. A program including patriotic songs, "Taps" and a history lesson about Veterans Day was completed with the entire student body marching past the veterans in attendance, shaking their hands and thanking them for their service.

Participating Taylor Community residents included Dave Bogar, Joe Picard, Roger Webster, Millard Smith, Fred Neinas, David Hart, and Ted Faller.

"What a wonderful experience for both the students and veterans," said Brenda Kean, Taylor Community's Director of Resident Life. "There were many tears eyes in the room today along with plenty of gratitude and great pride!"

Both Kean and PSS Principal Dave Levesque look forward to future collaborations.
