Harlem Wizards coming to Laconia Thursday for comedic basketball

LACONIA — The Laconia Professional Firefighters and the Lakes Region Boys and Girls Club are hosting the Harlem Wizards at the Laconia High School this Thursday, Sept. 21, at 7 p.m.

The Harlem Wizards are a comedic show basketball team and have helped raise more than $2 million across the country for non-profit organizations.

The portion of the proceeds going to the Boys and Girls Club portion will help expand the club's existing programs.

The Firefighters half will be going toward its Operation Warm Campaign. In conjunction with The Santa Fund of the Greater Lakes Region, the Firefighters help to raise money to outfit kids within our local communities with warm winter outerwear. The directly buy American-made winter coats and supply as many as possible to the Santa Fund and help distribute the items in the fall to families in need.

In 2015 Laconia Professional Firefighters started raising money for Operation Warm and assisting The Santa Fund with outfitting 650 youth within the communities in the Lakes Region. Last year the number grew to 750 and this year is expected to grow as well.

Tickets can be purchased at the door for $15, or online for a reduced price at https://harlemwizards.thundertix.com/events/111589.
