Gilford Library hosts events about tea, photography

GILFORD — The Gilford Public Library will offer programs about tea and nature photography this month.

"The Basics of Tea" with Danielle Beaudette will take place Tuesday, Jan. 17, from 6:30-7:30 p.m.; and "Pathways to Better Nature Photography" is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 19, from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Danielle Beaudette of The Cozy Tea Cart (www.thecozyteacart.com) and certified tea specialist will explain the basics of tea which will provide the public with the answers to questions on where tea comes from and how it is different from herbal (tisane) blends. In her discussion, she will feature a variety of teas from around the world and explain their production. She will describe a journey from the tea fields to the tea in your cup. John Gill, professional nature and landscape photographer, will present "Pathways to Better Nature Photography" and discuss ingredients for success in nature photography at the Gilford Public Library on Jan. 19. His work has received numerous awards, and the New Hampshire Professional Photographers Association has honored him twice as "Photographer of the Year." His work can be seen at www.johngillphoto.com. Fiber Friends at the Gilford Public Library meet on Tuesday mornings from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The Fiber Friends invite any crafters to join them in creating fiber crafts. The Fiber Friends provide a welcoming environment for crafters to work on their fiber crafts in the company of other makers. Rug hooking, latch hooking, quilting, needle felting, punch needling, embroidery, knitting, and any other fiber crafts are welcome to join in.
